The IT Specialist I - Enterprise Application Migrator uses general overall knowledge in areas such as Windows and Unix System Administration (basic knowledge), application processing, and middleware technology.

Under management direction, provides technical application migration support for several server based Ryder applications. Performs the installation, maintenance, and configuration of relegated applications and utilities.


* Four-year college degree with emphasis on computer science, math, or business information services with four or more years relevant work experience with demonstrated technical expertise in supporting complex application; six or more years information services experience with stated experience in lieu of degree.
* Experience working with Windows Server.
* Experience working with Unix / Linux.
* Experience providing support for other departments server-based applications
* Experience in implementing changes within a change management structure
* Position requires 7x24 rotational on-call schedule and requires the incumbent to carry a pager
* Ability to travel up to 10%


* Excellent customer service skills
* Excellent ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written, with other company staff and management.
* Excellent documentation and technical presentation skills
* Experience with multiple generations of Windows server Operating Systems (2000, 2008) preferred
* Experience with Windows or Unix scripting preferred
* Experience with network technologies preferred

Day to day support requirements most of which require quick, responsive turnarounds - such as:

1. Application code migrations, frequently after hours and on weekends.

2. Emergency application support and migrations, often after hours.

3. New customer rollouts

4. New application version rollouts

5. Change management tasks related to the above.

6. Quoting application related efforts for new business (this also requires quick turnarounds).

7. Improvements to application related processes including working on increased automation of tasks.

8. Application Product team questions and support

9. Production Support team questions and support

10. Quality Assurance team questions and support
